Abstract:

We prove the existence of steady 2-dimensional FLOWS, containing a bounded vortex, and approaching a uniform flow at infinity. The data prescribed is the rearrangement class of the vorticity field. The corresponding stream function satisfies a semilinear elliptic partial differential equation. The result is proved by maximizing the kinetic energy over all FLOWS whose vorticity fields are rearrangements of a prescribed function.

Abstract:

Purpose: A new code based on Helmholtz decomposition is presented to separate longitudinal (pressure) and transverse (shear) components of a mixed wave field. This algorithm will help isolate shear or pressure components of an elastic wave to further concentrate on each specific wave and its physical characteristics, particularly in medical imaging instrument development and image processing techniques. Materials and Methods: Using the combination of Fourier transform and Helmholtz decomposition, first, the mathematical basis of the work is prepared. After reaching a usable formula, this basis is embedded in the Code written in MATLAB program. Then, various test data containing shear and pressure waves were created and fed to the Code to evaluate its ability to decompose the displacements into the shear and pressure waves. Results: This new algorithm successfully isolated the transverse and longitudinal wavefront of the mixed wavefield. The Code demonstrated 100% accuracy for separating the shear wave and more than 99% for the pressure wave. Moreover, the background noise was kept under 0. 03% in every step. Conclusion: The results show that using Helmholtz decomposition in Fourier space on 3D data can help decompose a displacement field into its IRROTATIONAL and solenoidal components with high accuracy. A weak dependency on wave thickness and contrast was observed, but the algorithm's accuracy never fell below 99%.

Abstract:

Prediction is an important part of the decision-making process, because decision making reflects what will happen in the future. In economic decision making, financial prediction is a important activity. Cash flow prediction is required in various economic decisions, because the cash FLOWS are the basis for dividends, interest payments and repayment of debt. With respect to theoretical literature and conducted researches, three regression models are constructed namely earnings, cash FLOWS, accrual components and cash FLOWS models for predicting future cash FLOWS. The empirical results show that past earnings, cash FLOWS, cash flow and accrual components of earnings can be used to predict future cash FLOWS of Tehran listed companies. But there are not different predictive powers between three prediction models. Furthermore, additional year lags of accounting data can improve the predictive power of the model.

Abstract:

In hydrologic regional frequency analysis, information of one or more stations is generalized for a region. In this case, the variation of this information is assumed to have a defined coefficient called scale. In this study, scaling properties of 7-day low flow of 19 basins in Mazandaran province in northern Iran were investigated. Scaling implies the relationship between probabilistic features and the area of the basin. If this exponent (called scaling exponent) has a linear relationship with drainage area and does not include a significant relationship with probability weighted moments, low flow is called “simple scaling”. The study showed that the logarithm of the drainage area and the logarithm of the probability weighted moments of order 1 to 10 are linear and the scaling exponent did not have a significant relationship with probability weighted moments. Acordingly the 7-day low FLOWS of Mazandaran province are simple scaling.

Abstract:

The present paper studies the relations among operation cash FLOWS, bankruptcy risk and future operation cash FLOWS. Accordingly, we have considered the relations between "future operation cash FLOWS” with "current operation cash FLOWS" and "bankruptcy risk". We have also studied the relations that future operation cash FLOWS can bear with new variable which are formed from the combination of "bankruptcy risk" with "current operation cash FLOWS". For studying the relation the variables with "future operation cash FLOWS", we have applied Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis (multi- variable). In data- analysis stage, we have used the data from 93 firms certified by Tehran's Stock Exchange from 1382 to 1387.Results from our study prove that there exists a noticeable direct and meaningful relationship between future operation cash FLOWS with current operation cash FLOWS. The same results also, indicate a relation between bankruptcy risk and current operation cash FLOWS with future operation cash FLOWS, so that in most operation years, bankruptcy risk and current operation cash FLOWS have been effective in predicting future operation cash FLOWS.

Abstract:

This article describes the results of experimental observations in pulsating Simple Shear FLOWS (SSF). A uniform-mean-gradient shear flow was generated within the test section of an open circuit wind tunnel. Transverse arrays of honeycomb channels with differing resistances were used to generate shear flow at low shear rates (less than 20 S-1). A set of rotating vanes pulsated the flow field at 8.5 Hz and 18 Hz. Instantaneous velocitywas measured by employing a two-component hot wire anemometry technique. The experimental credibility of the facility was established in stationary SSF. In pulsating FLOWS the pulsation effects on mean shear rate, the kinetic energy of turbulence, Reynolds stresses and the probability density of stream-wise velocity fluctuations were studied. It was found that deviation from stationary turbulence with pulsation at 8.5 Hz was more significant than that at 18 Hz. The modified form of the governing equations for pulsating FLOWS was derived. The emphasis of the analysis was placed on the production and dissipation mechanisms in pulsating SSF. The results are discussed in connection with the modified equations and physically plausible explanations are offered to interpret the laboratory observations. It is concluded that the anisotropic dissipation mechanism may be responsible for the observed experimental results.

Abstract:

Knowing the details of the interaction between people and runoff FLOWS caused by heavy rainfall or by floods due for example by the rupture of reservoirs or dams is essential to prevent accidents with humans. There are information in the literature on the equilibrium capacity of individuals partially immersed in FLOWS occurring in flat-bottomed channels, but there are many gaps regarding the use of urban draining staircases during the occurrence of rainfalls that generate runoff over their steps, and their impact on people. This study considered the effect of the flow on the stability of five obstacles positioned on one of the steps of a reduced model of a draining staircase. The results were used to calculate dimensionless parameters which involve the mass and height of the obstacle, the water density, critical depth of the flow and step height. These parameters were justified by a fundamental toppling and drag formulation, and good correlations between the obtained dimensionless parameters were obtained following adequate power laws. Comparisons between the data obtained in the present reduced model of staircase and literature data of flat bottom channels showed similar behaviors. Finally, a scaling procedure to compare results of different scales and situations was also presented. Excellent correlations using different literature data and those of the present study were obtained.

Abstract:

World bank has mentioned to effective factors of foreign investment FLOWS in its 2008 report, and announced that widespread foreign investment FLOWS has caused capital movement between countries to be attended in recent years in title of “global capital FLOWS”.Countries in different income groups play different roles in global capital FLOWS, as lots of them are investors and others are host. On the other hand, effect of countries in different income groups of global capital movement is different. So, lots of developing countries not only can not attract the international financial recourses, but also they fact capital flight. The main question of this research is evaluation of net and gross quantity and stability of global foreign private investment FLOWS which include foreign direct investment, foreign portfolio investment, loans and commercial credits. So, the effect of groups of countries on international financial resources movement will be evaluated. Many expert believe that capital outgoing or in the other word, capital flight from developing countries to developed countries is due to different economic, politic and social structures of countries. So, evaluation of global capital FLOWS and its stability can come to account as a way for preserving and attracting of financial resources which is fundamental factor of economic growth in such countries. The results of research emphasize that there is a significant statistical different between income groups in term of gross quantity of global capital FLOWS, in a way that OECD countries have experienced the most participation in capital movements.

Abstract:

The aim of this research is to examine the role of accruals in forecasting cash FLOWS, earnings, and valuation based on Barth et al. (2016). In fact it investigates information content of accruals in these three material cases. This model is the developed one of Dechow and Dichev (2002) and shows that separation of accruals on the basis of their role in cash-FLOWS conforming to the economic factors creating the cash FLOWS helps to explain forecasting models and valuation. Data from 179 firms listed in Tehran stock exchange over the years from 2007 to 2016 is analyzed. Separation of accruals on the basis of their role in cash-FLOWS conforming to the economic factors creating the cash FLOWS helps to explain forecasting models of earnings, cash FLOWS and valuation. Analysis of models indicates that each type of accrual has different information content in forecasting cash FLOWS, earnings and valuation.
